Summary

Symptoms

When installing Bizagi Modeler on Windows 10 the installation cannot be completed and the following error message appears: 

Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Bizagi\Bizagi Modeler\Modeler\BizagiModeler.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory

Cause

The error is caused because the user doesn’t have the necessary permissions to write into some system folders.

Solution

To obtain the necessary permissions follow these steps:

1. Go to C:\Program Files
2. Right-click on Bizagi folder and click Properties
3. Go to Security tab
4. Click on Edit... to change permissions
5. In the new dialog window, click on Administrators and then check the box Full Control below. Then do the same for Users.
6. Click Apply and OK to apply changes. Then do the same in the remaining dialog window.
